After Care Instructions

• Wash your brows with a gentle face wash (Cetaphil gentle wash recommended) and rinse gently, with a damp lukewarm cotton or gauze; starting on the 2nd day.  Gently washing every other day is optional (without wetting the brows for long periods of time).  Apply the Aquaphor ointment to dry skin, starting the 3rd night onward.  You can apply ointment up to 2-3 times a day until fully flaked, or until sensitivity is gone. (can possibly take 14 days).

DO NOT PICK ON OR WASH OFF YOUR FLAKING BROWS.  Tenderness and swelling can last 1-3 days depending on how sensitive your skin is.  Clear lymph fluid mixed with access ink and micro droplets of blood (clear brownish red color); will drain from the tattoo site for a day or two, and is completely normal.  Icing 10 minutes and off 10 minutes intermittently can help with reducing swelling and pain. Bruising is uncommon but can happen to individuals with sensitive skin. The tattoo pigment and surrounding skin, may feel itchy and begin to scab, and flake; This process can take 7-14 days and is completely normal.  Allow the scab to naturally shed on its own.

•Please contact/ consult your medical health professional  right away if you see signs of infection. Signs of infection may include, continued pain to the tattoo site after 72 hours, redness, white or yellow puss drainage, bubbling or  abscess & raising skin tissue of the tattoo site. Hot sensation and tenderness to the site and rashes on or surrounding the tattoo site.  Please contact your healthcare provider right away.

• Do not wet the brows for long periods of time- for 7 FULL days. Best practices are bathing /showering quickly for 5–10-minutes in lukewarm baths to avoid sweating.  Use ointment to protect the brows and wear shower shields provided, before washing hair- and patting the brows dry after bathing/showering, with a clean paper towel/tissue.

• Avoid Working out, Sweating/steaming, wetting/swimming, touching, sun/heat exposure & skin care for 7 days. This is to avoid infection and also pigment loss or migration.

•Sweating/steaming regularly, can lighten the brows in the long run.  Sun exposure or tanning while healing can cause the brows to burn/irritate.  Regular sun exposure/tanning bed usage after healing, can cause the brow discolor in the long run.  Skin care or chemical treatments within the healing stages can cause irritation or infections.  Certain treatments  done regularly, such as chemical peels, retinol, retinae, aha’s, bha’s, and Vitamin C (lightening or radiance) skin care, can lighten the brows in the long run.  Please be aware of this and keep in mind that every individuals eyebrows change over time due to their lifestyle, it is your responsibility to upkeep your brows.

• Please remember that your eyebrow tattoo is low maintenance & not “no maintenance”.  You will still need to groom around the tattooed brows for best results, gently exfoliate the brow once a month to remove dead skin and add makeup to small areas that lighten through time, (12 months+  touch ups are recommended for those who’s tattoos fade more then 40-50% in color)
